No one since Michael Rogin has written so incisively about the American presidency and American popular culture. This Is Not a President radically transforms ones understanding of American political discourse." (Anne Norton,University of Pennsylvania) "A provocative analysis of the place of the U.S.

presidency in contemporary timesCited by: In This Is Not a President, Diane Rubenstein looks at the postmodern presidency — from Reagan and George H. Bush, through the current administration, and including Hillary. Focusing on those seemingly inexplicable gaps or blind spots in recent American presidential politics, Rubenstein interrogates symptomatic moments in political rhetoric, popular culture, and presidential behavior to elucidate profound and disturbing changes in the American presidency Cited by: In This Is Not a President, Diane Rubenstein looks at the postmodern presidency—from Reagan and George H.

Bush, through the current administration, and including Hillary. This was an extremely easy and fast read written in the first person, through the eyes of Molly Cartwright, taking over as President under the worst circumstances possible.

It all occurs over four days, and takes the reader on a ride of emotions, decisions, probing questions, and has a very different ending than expected/5(). "Madam President: This is not a Drill" is a political thriller with a familial twist. The president is in trouble; the vice president is his daughter.

Difficult decisions are extra agonizing because of the father/daughter relationship. When the roles change and she becomes president /5. The Presidents motorcade has been attacked and the President has been taken. The Vice President has to assume the role and carry on the duties whilst trying to locate the President before he is killed.

This Is Not a President book The captors demands can not be met which means a deadly end. The ending turns the story upside down. A good read/5(). In Not a Day Care, Dr. Everett Piper, president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University and author of the viral essay, "This Is Not a Day Care.

It's a University!," takes a hard look at what's happening around the country--including the demand for "safe spaces" and trigger warnings at universities like Yale, Brandeis, and Oberlin--and digs in his heels /5().

I enjoyed this book so much that I purchase the audio book as soon as I finished reading it. The audio book doesn't disappoint eather, specially during a long commute. Olbermann's passion comes through while reading the book, but his voice on the audio book is ten times more passionate since Trump's quotes are done in a Trump voice/5().

This book should have been published before the election. I am not sure if it would have made a difference, but it was a very great read. The chronological order of the the essays written for GQ in one book is great.

Some of the things written about in this book I remember, some I did not. Good analogy of things Trump has done/5. Hey guys!. So yes, this is the first episode of my new series, which you all voted on. This book was the winner by a long shot and I am super happy that it was. Donald Trump Is Not My President.

Octo Deplorable 1. Deplorable 2. Donald Trump is one of the least charitable billionaires in the world. Eric Trump is far more altruistic. In a clash of values, the president directed hundreds of thousands of dollars from his son's kids-with-cancer foundation into his company ers: K.

The mystical book as told in the movie National Treasure, probably doesn’t exist. But there is a President’s Secret Book. Obama in Aug claims that he saw this Secret Book. And that there is some sort of Presidential Briefing for incoming Presidents is something that I.

President Carter restricted readership to himself, National Security Advisor (NSA) Brzezinski, Vice President Mondale, Secretary of State Vance, and Secretary of Defense Brown because he thought President Ford had allowed too many people to read the book and, as a result, the best intelligence was not being included.

(–13) President Reagan. "In This Is Not a President, Diane Rubenstein looks at the postmodern presidency - from Reagan and George H.W. Bush, through the current administration, and including Hillary. Sam Bourne’s unnamed and unstable President is offstage throughout the book, but he wants to bomb North Korea off the map, deport Muslims and other migrants (not just first-generation migrants) and demolish healthcare to lower higher-rate taxes.

Not the kind of man you want as leader of the “Free World”/5(). The book is probably a little too kind to George W. Bush and a little too hard on Obama (he receives an "F-" grade, the lowest for any president), but whatever.

There's a lot of great information here, and it's the kind of book that does a good job separating hype from reality/5. This nonfiction book is very informative.

It tells you what a president does and it also gives small descriptions of of some of the presidents and what they have accomplished. The book has a rhyming scheme.

At the end of the book it has illustrations and names of all presidents /5. The series offers short, inexpensive books on every president (save a few not yet published) for general readers. I turned to it when stumped on choosing what to. IF I WERE~PRESIDENT by Catherine Stier and illustrated by DyAnne DiSalvo-Ryan is an amazing Children's Book/Educational/Picture Book.

What a delightful way to teach young readers,Kindergarten to Grade 2 about the president/5. The President Who Doesn't Read. it was the publication of a book this week that crystallized the reality of just how little Donald Trump reads.
